I AM… The two of the most powerful words uttered by God. It needs no other description. HE IS! Praise His name forever. He was and IS and shall ever be. He is the Almighty God. The all-powerful, omnipotent, creative God of the Universe. He is all sufficient and has no needs. He is all in all. He is love. The King of kings, and Lord of lords. He is our Savior. The Lamb… the Lion. HE IS magnificent!
He said to Moses from the burning bush “I AM THAT I AM.“ He told Moses that when he would go before Israel and Pharaoh, just to tell them that I AM hath sent you. There was no need for any further statement, defense, explanation, or description. That was it. That was ALL that was needed. HE IS; and that is final.
In Matthew 16:13-16 Jesus asked his disciples “saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I AM? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
In John 18 Judas came to the garden with the band of men to take Jesus prisoner. Jesus asked them who they were seeking. They said Jesus of Nazareth. He then answered them… I AM he. As soon as he uttered those words they fell backward to the ground. There was something in that. Just the utterance of those words by Jesus, THE WORD, there went a supernatural power out of Him – just in that simple declaration. If I were them, and got hit by that invisible power, I would have run as fast I could in the opposite direction.
There are dozens of times in the word of God that God declared this statement – I AM. Here are just a few.
I AM the LORD
I AM the Almighty God
I AM the God of Abraham
I AM God Almighty
I AM thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward
I AM God
I AM the LORD, I change not
I AM a great King
I AM the resurrection, and the life
I AM the way, the truth, and the life
I AM the vine
I AM holy
I AM the Son of God.
I AM with you always
I AM the bread of life
I AM the bread which came down from heaven.
I AM the living bread
I AM the light of the world
I AM he
I AM the door of the sheep
I AM the door
I AM come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

I AM in the Father, and the Father in me
I AM not of the world
I AM King of the Jews
I AM the LORD your God
I AM Jesus whom thou persecutest
I AM the first and the last:
I AM he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold,
I AM alive for evermore
I AM he which searcheth the reins and hearts
I AM Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end
I AM the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star
This is the God we serve. How can we not love, trust, and serve Him? He is worthy. He is wonderful.
WHO DO YOU SAY THAT
