The Covid-19 pandemic is one of the biggest unprecedented events in recent history – maybe in all of history. Nothing has changed the world so quickly and so severely as this pandemic. In this technological Information Age that we live in, news travels fast – and it’s been amazing to me to see how the response to this virus has been so uniform throughout the world. Whether in Asia, Africa, Europe, South America or the U.S., face masks, “social distancing”, hand washing, and stay at home has become the normal worldwide practice, and even legal policy in some countries. There has never been such a rapid, unified global response like this to anything in all of human history. How does this fit in with the end-times, and does this mark a transition in the time of trouble spoken of in Daniel 12 and the time of sorrows spoken of in Matthew 24? We need the mind of the Lord on these matters.
Is this an isolated event, or just the beginning of even more deadlier plagues to come upon us? Was this an accidental breakout, or a deliberate, pre-planned release upon the world? We need answers, and we need to know the truth. We can’t overreact or under-react. We need the mind of the Lord on these matters.
There is lots of speculation, theories and opinions flying around these days. But what is the truth? How do we discern the difference? We need to know the truth about these signs of the times. We need the mind of the Lord, and to know what the people of God ought to do in this most crucial hour. There is much prophetic speculation. May God help to discern and to prophecy accurately. We can’t have mixture anymore. We can’t miss the mark anymore. We can’t have false prophecies anymore. We need to be careful… we need the mind of the Lord.
Is this it? Are we in the end-times? Is this the beginning of the Great Tribulation? How should we prepare? Can we prepare? What should we do? What can we do? What must we do?
Especially those in leadership have a responsibility to discern rightly and to minister truth. We can’t minister speculation or opinion. We are caught in a difficult place because we cannot keep silent – yet we have prophesied out of our own minds, as convinced as we were. We’ve missed it so many times; which has brought fear, bad decisions and even division. We are in a very difficult place. May God help us!
My question is: What issues are really important for us to understand RIGHT NOW, and which are not? We waste a lot of time and have a tendency to get sidetracked on subjects and events that are really not that important or central to what God needs us to focus on, and then to minister forth.
The Covid-19 virus is at the forefront in the news and in everyone’s mind; but is it a key event in the beginning of “the end,” or is it just another passing crisis. There is a lot of different opinions on this, and there seems to be certain subjects that are the main focus for each of us.
So not only is there a need in discerning the issues, but discerning which issues are important, and in what priority. May God help us to clearly know the mind of the Lord.
Our thoughts and responses take on our own personalities, persuasions, fears, theologies, etc., and are promoted as God or the word of the Lord. We need to be very careful.
Jesus had his own will; however, he was totally submitted to the Father and to His will. He never spoke out of his own mind, will or emotions. He only spoke that which the Father gave him to speak. There’s the same requirement for all of God’s sons. May we walk carefully in these days, and may God help us to hear His voice, to know His mind and to only speak that which He gives us to speak.
In John 14:10 Jesus said “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.”
In 5:30 Jesus said “I can of mine own self do nothing:… because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”
I Cor. 2:16 states “For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”
Phil. 2:5 says “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”
